2020 Census

What is the Census?

The census is a count of all people living in the United States, and is required by the Constitution. It takes place every 10 years at the beginning of each new decade, with 2020 being a census year.  Households across the country will receive an invitation to participate in the mail between March 12 and 20th. For the first time, participation in the census can be done online, by mail or by phone. Census data is used by federal, state and local governments for resdistricting, by businesses to determine where to locate, and funding for certain government programs is determined based on census data.
