County Pool

Please be planning on the 2023 season and talk with those that may be interested in becoming a certified lifeguard.   
We will begin taking applications in February 2023 at the Public Works office located at 328 Broadway, Room 5.

Requirements for positions at the County Pool

• Minimum age 15yrs old
• Swim 300 yards continuously using the breast stroke or front crawl
• Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
• Lifeguard Certification
• CPR certification

Certification Testing includes but is not limited to being able to complete a pre-course swimming test including a 300 yard swim of front crawl and breaststroke, a timed test of swimming to the deep end to pick up a brick off the bottom of the pool, and treading water for two minutes without the use of your hands.
Certification is awarded only with successful completion of CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid, as well as a final skill and written test.
